Did you know that every single one of us is on “probation” with our very lives? Our very life is a probationary time for us here on this earth. Our God created us for a specific purpose. We are given that purpose in Isaiah 43:7 where God tells us, “Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made." Notice, we were specifically created for God’s glory. How do we glorify God? By serving Him, by putting Him first in every area of our lives. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, outlines it for us very specifically in Matthew 6:33 where He says, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” Seek His kingdom first above what? Above everything in this world. Our God created us and gave us a wonderful, beautiful world in which to live. He gave us wonderful things to enjoy while we are here. BUT, we are not to put any of the things of this world ahead of God, in place of God in any way. To enable us to make the right choices, God gave us free will. He gave us the ability to look, to think and to choose what we will or will not do. God could have just created a bunch of robots that had no choice about what to do or how to do it but, He didn’t. God wants to be loved and served by those who WANT to love and serve Him. He has promised a tremendous reward to all who choose to serve Him and put Him first in their lives. ”to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,” (1 Peter 1:4). Those who “fail” their probationary time will spend an eternity in the fires of hell with the Devil and his angels (Rev. 20:10-15).
So, here is where we are, right now, today. God has told us why we are here, told us we are on “probation” and given us the requirements we must meet while on probation. He has also promised an awesome, eternal reward if we meet the requirements and graduate from our probationary period of time. But, He has also given us fair warning of what will happen if we ignore Him and ignore His requirements. Now, it is up to us, it is our choice as to what and how we will choose to live our lives. What are the choices you have made and are making?
Until next week, I love you all,
